Zoey, her brother and dad made clay from dirt. After filtering out the sand, rocks, leaves, and other materials with a screen, they hung it in old shirt to dry out. They crated marbles, fossil imprints, ornaments, and other decorations. While waiting for it to dry, they built a kiln with bricks over a hole in the ground. Sticks and logs were used as fuel to fire the clay pieces. Zoey’s favorite part was painting them when they were finished.
